How To Knit Fingerless Gloves With Owls

Are you ready to add some whimsical charm to your wardrobe? Look no further than knitting fingerless gloves with owl designs! These adorable and practical accessories are a great way to showcase your knitting skills while keeping your hands warm during chilly seasons.

Why Choose Fingerless Gloves?
Fingerless gloves, as the name suggests, leave your fingers free while still covering the palms and wrists. They provide warmth and protection without sacrificing dexterity. Whether you're strolling through a frosty park, typing on your laptop, or enjoying a hot beverage, fingerless gloves are the perfect choice.
The Appeal of Owls
Owls have long been associated with wisdom and mystique. They symbolize a connection with nature and possess a unique allure in various cultures. Integrating owl designs into your fingerless gloves adds a touch of charm and creativity to your overall look.

What You'll Need
To get started on your knitting adventure, gather the following materials:
- Worsted weight yarn in your preferred colors
- 4mm knitting needles
- A set of double-pointed needles
- Yarn needle
- Stitch markers
- Scissors
Step-by-Step Guide
Follow these instructions to create your own unique fingerless gloves with owl designs:
- Start by casting on the required number of stitches, depending on the size of your hand.
- Work the ribbing section by knitting in a 2x2 pattern (knit 2 stitches, purl 2 stitches) for a few rows.
- Begin the main section by introducing the owl design. To do this, follow a basic template or create your own using different knitting techniques like fair isle or intarsia.
- Continue knitting and incorporating the owl design until you reach the desired length for your fingerless gloves.
- Shape the thumb opening by binding off a few stitches in the center of a row. This will create a gap for your thumb to fit through.
- Finish off the fingerless glove by working the remaining rows and binding off all stitches once you reach the desired length.
- Repeat steps 1-6 to create a matching glove for the other hand.
Adding the Final Touches
Once you have completed both gloves, you can add various embellishments to enhance the owl design. Consider using small buttons for eyes, or sew on a beak using a different color yarn. Let your creativity soar and bring your owls to life!
Knitting fingerless gloves with owl designs is a delightful way to express your personal style and enjoy the cozy comfort of handmade accessories. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced knitter, this project will challenge and inspire you.
So, grab your knitting needles and unleash your creativity. The result will be a pair of fingerless gloves that not only keep your hands warm but also become a conversation starter wherever you go!

These are fairly quick to make if you’re somewhat of an experienced knitter. Don't know how to knit in the round on double pointed needles (dpn)? No worries! This pattern now includes links to a FREE step-by-step YouTube video that shows you every round and stitch. If you ever wanted to learn to knit in the round, this is a very thorough video that will show you how.
This is also a great pattern if you have a bit of left over yarn from other knitting projects. Like enough to knit one slipper, but you’re not sure if you’ll have enough to finish the whole pair. I know. We’ve all been there.
A few quick words on sizing. Instead of going through all the effort to remake the pattern for different sizes, and to keep the proportion of the knitted owls the same, I’ve gone about adjusting the sizing by changing the size of your knitting needles.
This pattern is also available in an ad supported version on KweenBee.com
