"PARIS II " is the second in a series of picture-poetry books by Editions D'Auteurs (with 38 photos of Paris and 15 poems, in 66 pages) "Paris and Nice" is the first in the series, followed by this volume and "Cafe Life and Romance", with "Paris III in preparation. Paris II contains such poems as "Les Halles and St Eustache", "Gavarnie", and "Montmartre Cemetary". It reflects the author's deep knowledge and love of Paris. Webster Young has been a journalist for Newsday and a candidate for Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts. John Axline is a documentary and ballet film maker (PBS, Disney) whose black and white photos are influenced by great French art photography (Brassai, Doisneau). Young's poetic style is lyrical and multi-metered, often with internal rhyme. Webster Young excelled at poetry as a boy, but then turned to other arts disciplines at university. He returned to writing poetry several years ago while studying the poetry criticism of T S Eliot. His recent poetry has been praised by the editors of America Magazine and Modern Age. Young has published two books on music, including "The Palaces of Music" also available at Amazon and Kindle.
